Students

Circles of Jackson County offers students flexible volunteer and intern roles. Circles and Western Carolina University are longstanding partners and work together on many projects.

  • Volunteers support Circles during our weekly meetings, but can expand on their roles based on interests and experience. Positions may vary based on experience and interest. Circles’ interns apply their studies to our organization and receiving college credit in the process.

  • Interns have a deeper focus than volunteers, providing relevant experience and work alongside Circles staff throughout the semester with various tasks. Students who take on an internship will be recognized in our Intern’s Corner.

Give us 2 hours each week and watch your community flourish.

  • Volunteer

Circles volunteers receive community service hours in exchange for simple tasks during our meetings, which includes:

    - Welcoming attendees

    - Arranging tables and chairs

    - Preparing meals

    - Presenting student scholarship

  • Intern

Circles interns have greater responsibilities in their duties, which comes with greater opportunity. Past internships include:

    - Media developer

    - Communications specialist

    - Website manager

    - Social worker
