Circles of Jackson Attends Seeds & Soil!
Circles of Jackson County’s Executive Director, Dawn Neatherly, and intern, Grace Chastain, recently attended the second annual Seeds & Soil Community Partnership Day at Western Carolina University (WCU). The Seeds & Soil event was hosted by WCU’s Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning. Many nonprofits from the area were in attendance, providing a great opportunity for members of different organizations to network and plan future collaborations!
After an introduction from WCU Chancellor Kelli Brown (who also serves on the Circles of Jackson board!), each attendee was given the opportunity to informally present themselves and provide a brief overview of their organization. Following introductions were panel sessions highlighting successful relationships between nonprofits and the university, as well as different resources the university has available.
In Jackson County, many nonprofits participate in collaborative partnerships to help each other in pursuing their missions and serving their clients. Seeds & Soil provided a wonderful opportunity for organizations to both form new connections and revisit old ones. Circles of Jackson has been honored to participate in this event for the past two years and plans to attend future events!
