Retirement Announcement for Client Services Coordinator, Sierra Womack
Circles of Jackson County recently announced the early retirement of our Client Services Coordinator, Sierra Womack.
Just over three years ago, Sierra (a Jackson County native) was in search of a job where she would be following her passion for helping people. Her background was in social work, yet she had spent her recent years working in a church setting. When she stumbled across Circles, she saw it as the potential avenue for serving others she had been looking for. However, before accepting her job, Sierra went out of her way to attend weekly Circles meetings and get to know the clients, volunteers, and staff. She prioritized not only learning about the mission of Circles but seeing it in action and getting to know those involved.
Sierra’s favorite aspect of working with Circles of Jackson was watching clients go through the entire Circles program; she saw individuals come to Circles in one place and leave in a completely different one. Additionally, Circles taught Sierra how to see poverty in a new light. She grew to understand the complexities of poverty and importance of personally getting to know someone in need.
Sierra came to know Circles not just as an organization but as a family. She firsthand experienced what Circles is about: supporting each other and growing together, no matter who you are. Entering early retirement will allow Sierra to take the rest she deserves, as well as spend more time with family and pursue other areas of passion. We’re thankful for all she has done for Circles and will certainly miss her!
