Guest Speaker Brenda Murphree, WNC Research Fellow

Recently, guest speaker Brenda Murphree presented at one of our Circles meetings! Brenda Murphree is a WNC Research Fellow who is part of a research project regarding WNC communities and how they get their news and information. She joined one of our meetings to not only inform us about her project but invite us to be part of it!

We spent the evening discussing the different avenues we use to find information, what makes a trustworthy source, and things we wish our news sources did differently. Not only was it beneficial for Brenda’s project, but many members of Circles were able to learn about different news sources from each other! Additionally, each attendee filled out a provided survey to contribute directly to the research project.
